Comment ça marche

  1. 1
    Upload an image

Drop a PNG, JPG, or WEBP, or click to browse. The image loads into your browser only - nothing is uploaded to a server.

  2. 2
Set brush size and blur strength

Sliders let you dial the paint-brush diameter and how heavy the blur is. Switch between smooth Gaussian blur and blocky pixelation depending on the look you want.

  3. 3
Paint over what you want to hide

Click and drag across faces, plates, or any detail. Every stroke reveals the pre-blurred version of the image underneath - hold shift and drag, or draw multiple strokes to cover more area.

  4. 4
    Undo or start over

Undo/Redo any stroke, Clear to remove all blur, or Blur all to blur the whole image at once.

  5. 5
    Download the PNG

Save the result as a PNG at the original resolution - no watermark, no signup, no size limit.

Questions fréquentes

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. All blurring runs locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Your original image and the blurred result never leave your device - safe for IDs, screenshots, private documents, and anything sensitive.

What's the difference between blur and pixelate?

Gaussian blur smoothly softens the area - good for a natural look on faces or backgrounds. Pixelate replaces pixels with big blocks - the classic mosaic look, better when you want it to be obvious that something is hidden.

Is the blur reversible?

No - once you download the PNG, the blurred pixels are baked into the image. Pixel data underneath the blur is not stored in the exported file. That's what makes it safe for redacting sensitive information.

Can I change the brush size while painting?

Yes. Adjust the brush size slider between strokes for finer or wider coverage.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. Touch-drag on any modern mobile browser works the same as clicking and dragging with a mouse.

Does it support PDFs?

Not yet - this v1 supports PNG, JPG, and WEBP images. For PDFs, screenshot the page first, blur it here, then re-embed if needed.

What's the biggest image I can blur?

Bounded by your device's memory. Photos up to ~6000×6000 pixels work smoothly on most modern devices; larger images may pause briefly when adjusting the blur strength.

Will the blurred image lose quality?

The un-blurred parts of the image are preserved exactly from your original - only the painted regions change. Export is a lossless PNG at the original resolution.
