Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between margin and markup?

Both measure the gap between cost and price, but from different denominators. Margin = profit ÷ price. Markup = profit ÷ cost. Margin can never exceed 100%; markup can.

Example: cost $60, price $100

Profit $40. Margin = 40 ÷ 100 = 40%. Markup = 40 ÷ 60 ≈ 66.7%. Same trade, different numbers - mixing them up is a common pricing mistake.

Is my data uploaded?
